WCSJ2011- Cancer- The Role of Journalists in Informing Attitudes and Beliefs

Cancer myths and beliefs along with inappropriate and biased information has a huge influence on increasing the number of deaths from cancer all around the world. Although cancer had been considered as a disease more common in the developed countries, recent findings show its shift towards the developing countries. The discussion at the World Conference of Science Journalists emphasis on the role of media in creating cancer awareness among the local masses.
