The World Conference of Science Journalists is a bi-annual event of the World Federation of Science Journalists

The World Federation of Science Journalists (WFSJ) is a non-profit organization representing 41 associations of science and technology journalists from Africa, the Americas, the Asia-Pacific, Europe and the Middle East. It promotes the role of science journalists as key players in civil society and democracy. The Arab Science Journalists Association

The Arab Science Journalists Association (ASJA) officially registered in December 2006 as a network under the umbrella of the Arab Science & Technology Foundation in the United Arab Emirates.

ASJA’s main objectives are to form a network of science journalists in the Arab world, to play a role in developing the skills of journalists, and to monitor Arab media for signs of both poor and excellent science coverage.

National Association of Science Writers

In 1934, a dozen pioneering science reporters established the National Association of Science Writers (NASW) at a meeting in New York. They wanted a forum in which to join forces to improve their craft and encourage conditions that promote good science writing.

The association was formally incorporated in 1955 with a charter to "foster the dissemination of accurate information regarding science through all media normally devoted to informing the public."

Above all, NASW fights for the free flow of science news.

Qatar National Food Security Programme

Qatar National Food Security Programme (QNFSP) is a national initiative established by the His Highness Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani, the Heir Apparent of the State of Qatar, consisting of an inter-governmental Task Force to develop the Food Security Master Plan for the State of Qatar which will be completed by the end of 2012.

Qatar National Food Security Programme (QNFSP) is a national initiative established by the His Highness Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani, the Heir Apparent of the State of Qatar, consisting of an inter-governmental Task Force to develop the Food Security Master Plan for the State of Qatar which will be completed by the end of 2012.

The Master Plan will layout a sustainable solution that will be implemented by the executive branch of the Qatari government through the QNFSP Task Force. The implementation of the Master Plan will assist the State of Qatar in the fulfillment of the goals and objectives set by the Qatar National Vision (QNV) of 2030, leading to Human, Social, Economic and Environmental development.

South Africa Project coordinates South Africa (SKA)

The SKA South Africa Project coordinates South Africa’s bid to host the Square Kilometre Array – the world’s largest radio telescope. The core of this mega science instrument will be located in South Africa’s Northern Cape Province, with SKA stations spread across the African continent. South Africa is building a 64-dish SKA pathfinder – the MeerKAT telescope. A seven-dish engineering test-bed for MeerKAT – called KAT-7 – is already in place.

Water Supply and Sanitation Collaborative Council (WSSCC)

The Water Supply and Sanitation Collaborative Council is an international organization that works to improve access to sustainable sanitation, hygiene and water for all people. It does so by enhancing collaboration among sector agencies and professionals who are working to provide sanitation to the 2.6 billion people without a clean, safe toilet, and the 884 million people without affordable, clean drinking water close at hand. WSSCC is part of the UN system and contributes to development through knowledge management, advocacy, communications, and the implementation of a sanitation financing facility. National Association of Science Writers

In 1934, a dozen pioneering science reporters established the National Association of Science Writers (NASW) at a meeting in New York. They wanted a forum in which to join forces to improve their craft and encourage conditions that promote good science writing.

The association was formally incorporated in 1955 with a charter to "foster the dissemination of accurate information regarding science through all media normally devoted to informing the public."

World Federation of Science Journalists

The World Federation of Science Journalists (WFSJ) is a non-profit organization representing 41 associations of science and technology journalists from Africa, the Americas, the Asia-Pacific, Europe and the Middle East. It is, in short, an association of associations. The WFSJ seeks to further science journalism as a bridge between science, scientists and the public. It promotes the role of science journalists as key players in civil society and democracy. The Federation's goals are to improve the quality of science reporting, promote standards and support science and technology journalists worldwide.
